The Customer's Problem

Owner of a transitional-modern home wanted a warm cedar facade to replace a flat steel door without losing the insulation and rigidity of a modern sectional system.

Our Process

   Built the cedar overlay panels at our Richardson shop using kiln-dried clear cedar.

   Pre-stained and sealed all six faces of each panel to control Texas-heat moisture cycling.

   Removed the existing steel door and installed a new insulated steel base door.

   Mounted the cedar overlay and iron strap hardware on-site for a flush, true fit.

   Re-sized the torsion springs to the new door weight and installed sealed-bearing nylon rollers.

Outcome

Curb-appeal upgrade with insulation values preserved. Door balances cleanly mid-travel and operates whisper-quiet on nylon rollers.
